No Commission Taken on Sales!

 

The Concept: To provide an opportunity for artists to sell their work at prices not inflated by the cost of paying commissions. BGAA will cover the cost of the facility by charging for the space each artist occupies. We will provide upright display panels and hooks for 2D artists to hang their work, and 6’ rectangular tables with black tablecloths for 3D artists to display their art. Space will be limited, and will be “sold” on a first-come, first reserved basis.

 

2D Rates: Panels are sold by the face (each panel has two faces.) We have 70 faces that measure 30”x71” (almost 15 square feet,) and another 18 faces that measure 38”x65”. Each face will cost the artist $15. Until we gauge interest levels, you may reserve a maximum of 4 faces.  No more than 2 faces can be in a straight line before we angle the next panel for stability. You may hang as many pieces, with no size limitation, as you can fit on your reserved faces. You may replace any piece you sell with another, if you care to. For a $5 fee, you may bring in one display easel on which to show an oversized piece. You may also reserve a table for your cards and prints, if you like. Plenty of 2D space is still available!  No maxiumum on the number of panel faces you can rent1   Your 2d  art should be wired for easiest hanging.

 

3D Rates: We have 30”x72” rectangular, and 5’ round tables at $25 per table. We have 6 only 18”x60” rectangular tables available for $14 per table. All tables will be draped in black. You may display as many pieces of art as you like on your tables, and you may store additional works under the rectangular tables if you so desire. You may replenish your sold items at your discretion. A number of BGAA 16”x16” black plinths are available at $5, should you want a free-standing pedestal for a dramatic effect. Only 2 of the 18"X60" tables remain. After 3 more rectangular 30"x72" tables are reserved, we can only guarantee 5' rounds - although on that Saturday the Community Center may have more of the 30"x72" table to give us.  If so, we will swap out the 5' tables for the retangles until gone.

 

Artwork Accepted: Oils, acrylic and watercolors, pastels, mixed media, photography, digital art, quality giclées and prints of original art, mosaics, metals, ceramics, textile art, jewelry, and woodworking that will fit on a tabletop. Kits and commercially made items are not allowed. Selling prints of your 2D work is rarely allowed in an Art Show setting.  We encourage you to do so here!

 Sales: BGAA will have a cashier in attendance at all times. You will not have to be on site unless you choose to be. All artwork must have a standardized tag that will be presented to the cashier and marked “Paid” before the art is allowed to leave the building. Any art paid for by charge card will be subject to a 3% fee for processing. All cash and check purchases will be turned over to the artist at the end of the sale. Artists are responsible for their own sales tax implications:  BGAA will not be collecting tax. We recommend you price your art with any sales tax included.BGAA volunteers will gladly be your proxy in talking about, selling, and repkenishing your art as it is sold, if you have backup materials,  Just let us know how you would like our help!

 

How to Reserve Space: Email Michael at michaelrkay@gmail.comwith the subject line “I Want In!” to receive the form to fill out requesting space, or go to www.bgartalliance.comand follow the links under “Fall Sale.. Fill the form out and mail it with your check made out to BGAA. Space will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis as checks reach Michael’s hands. We anticipate selling out all available space, so please don’t delay!  All requested space needs to be paid in full by October 1st. Sorry, but you must be 18 or older to participate.

 

BGAA will set up the room on Friday. You may bring in your art and arrange your displays from 8-10 am on Saturday.

Sale hours are 10am to 5 pm on Saturday, and 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday. Please arrive by 2:45 Sunday to collect your unsold work, as we will need to break everything down and vacate the building by 5 pm!
